Riot Quest is the hilariously chaotic arena skirmish game in which you pillage the post-apocalyptic Iron Kingdoms with a quirky crew of handpicked heroes. It’s already enjoyed several seasons as a “hybrid” hobby game and even scored an Origins Award nomination for Best Miniatures Game immediately after it launched. Well, now, by popular demand, the next incarnation for Riot Quest is arriving: a proper “big box” board game, packed with all the miniatures and components needed for a full four-player bout of booty lootin’!

As you might imagine, a giant box full of pre-assembled plastic minis is a pretty big undertaking, so we’ll be bringing this project to Kickstarter very soon. If you already have a Riot Quest collection of your own, everything offered in the board game version will be 100% compatible, so you can put your existing Riot Quest hobby miniatures right on the map with the new board game minis. Better still, rules and stats are exactly the same, so you already know exactly what madness you’re diving into! If you haven’t taken the plunge into the treasure-filled dungeons of the Iron Kingdoms yet, there has never been a better time. The Riot Quest Board Game will come with 48 Riot Quest minis—12 different characters in four different colors, so up to four players can assemble complete crews with characters left over. The box will also contain enough dice, tokens, Hero cards, and Riot Gear as well as a proper game board for up to four players.

This Riot Quest Board Game will focus primarily on the Mayhem season of releases, and through Stretch Goal Upgrades and several exciting Add-Ons, we hope to stuff this box to the brim with additional Hero minis and bring the entire Mayhem catalog to life for this new edition of the game. We’ll also have some exclusive Riot Gear for backers, and we’re even planning an exciting community competition in which you could have a chance to create your own piece of Riot Gear!

If you’re already deep into Riot Quest and don’t fancy all the duplicate minis, don’t worry— we’ve got you covered. The Riot Quest Board Game Kickstarter campaign will feature the next expansion for Riot Quest: PE(s)TS! The PE(s)TS expansion will feature 24 minis—6 different Pets in four different colors to fully equip a four-player game. Pets are actually Riot Gear with corresponding minis that get placed on the board with your Heroes, providing a bevy of wacky antics to drive your opponents crazy while helping you score more loot and bounties. They’re also just about the cutest wittle bitty cuddle bugs you’ve ever seen…at least as far as “wittle bitty cuddle bugs” go in the Iron Kingdoms! So, even if the new big box board game isn’t entirely for you, you’ll still be able to back for just the PE(s)TS expansion, and you’ll also have the chance to grab the exclusive Riot Gear as well as any other Add-Ons that get opened up as we hit stretch goals over the course of the campaign!
